One person died from a gunshot wound after a truck drove through the Cuba Casino, Seneca Gaming & Entertainment Oil Springs

An Allegany County resident with no criminal background who was considered a model citizen by local law enforcement died today after a public incident in Cuba.

Police said a man drove his blue pickup truck through the main entrance of Seneca Gaming & Entertainment Oil Springs, also known as Cuba Casino, about 45 minutes after the facility opened today near Cuba Lake.

Because a shotgun was visible, the call came into Allegany County 911 dispatch indicating an armed suspect. The casino does not have public WiFi for customers to make calls or text messages.

According to initial investigations, the police assume that it was a domestic dispute.

Casino security approached the vehicle after the accident and saw the gun and the self-inflicted shot.

The casino is located at 5374 West Shore Road Cuba, next to a Seneca-owned gas station. There are only slot machines in the complex. On June 30, 2022, a robbery at gunpoint occurred at the facility. The opening took place on July 4, 2014.
