Driver Cited in Park Rapids Crash Injuring Two Vehicles – Park Rapids Enterprise

There was an accident involving two vehicles and injuries at the intersection of US Highway. 71 and 3rd St., approximately 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8th.

According to the Park Rapids Police Department report, the driver of the 2018 Ram, Tracy Odom, 44, of Park Rapids, said she was not injured.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 2015 GMC, was Robert Miller of Nevis. He did not complain of injuries, but said Debra Miller, also of Nevis, who was in the front passenger seat, was coughing and complaining of chest and shoulder pain from the seat belt, the report said. North Memorial Ambulance arrived to assess Debra.

According to the report, Odom stated that she and the other vehicle were both traveling north on U.S. Highway. 71. Odom said she was behind the GMC and didn’t see her brake. She told law enforcement she was not distracted and was following the speed limit, but happened to be looking west toward the post office and then struck the rear of the GMC. Odom later received a citation in the mail for getting too close.

Robert said he yielded to a pedestrian crossing the street and slowed to let them cross. His vehicle was then rear-ended by the Ram.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under the Staff headline. Often the name “Stab” is used when rewriting basic short messages that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story includes many authors or when the story is created by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
