Jamie Foxx hits the stage after health scares

Jamie Foxx, 56, returned to the stage for the first time since his serious health scare in April 2023. During his one-man show, “One More Chance: An Evening with Jamie Foxx,” held in Atlanta from October 3-5, the actor performed and musician reflected on his road to recovery. In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, Foxx shared photos from the event and wrote, “God is good…my heart and soul are filled with nothing but pure joy.” He added, “I haven’t been to the event in 18 years stage, but I needed the stage and an audience that was pure love.”

Foxx also thanked the city of Atlanta and Piedmont Hospital, where he was treated, stating, “Thank you to the great people of Atlanta…You made it possible for me to come back and do what I love to do,” Foxx appeared emotional in the photos, wiping his eyes and thanking the audience.

In April 2023, Foxx’s daughter Corinne announced that her father had experienced a medical complication. Foxx later revealed that he was hospitalized after taking Advil for a headache, saying, “I was gone for 20 days… I don’t remember anything.”

Foxx’s health issues forced him to step away from filming and hosting Beat Shazam, but he has since returned to the show. In September 2024 he also led Corinne to the altar at her wedding to Joe Hooten.
