Green Bay police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Police are investigating a fatal crash between a pedestrian and a pickup truck.

According to a news release from the Green Bay Police Department on Monday, the accident occurred just after 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Main Street.

According to officials, a 29-year-old Eaton man was struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross the street. When police arrived on scene, he was found lying on the road. The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on Sunday.

According to police, the driver of the van is employed by a service provider contracted by Green Bay Metro and is not a city employee. An initial investigation revealed that neither speed nor alcohol had any influence on the accident.

The driver remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with police. No citations have been issued at this time.
