Last evening, the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) and Metro Transit Police responded to two separate knife attacks near the Twinbrook subway station, in which both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries

Per RCPD: “The Rockville City Police Department was able to obtain a still image of the suspect wanted in connection with two stabbings that occurred on October 13, 2024, shortly after 5:30 p.m. Criminal investigators are still checking with local businesses for surveillance footage and/or still images of the suspect.

If anyone was in the area of ​​the Twinbrook subway station or the area of ​​the 1500 block of Rockville Pike last night and remembers seeing someone fitting this description, they are asked to call 240- 314-8900 or RCPD Criminal Investigation Division at 240-314-8900 [email protected] with information. Callers have the option to remain anonymous. The RCPD takes this matter very seriously and has requested assistance from our federal law enforcement partners. This remains an active and ongoing investigation between the RCPD and Metro Transit Police.”

Latest Update: Just before 5:30 this evening, RCPD responded to the Twinbrook subway station for a stabbing. The adult male victim was approached and stabbed by an unknown suspect. Metro Transit Police responded and are investigating. A few minutes later, RCPD responded to a separate call for a stabbing in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, near the subway station. Another adult male victim was found to have been stabbed in the back. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is described as an African-American male wearing only black clothing and remains at large.
