MN Boy, 13, Killed in Haunted Hayride Accident: Sheriff

ST AUGUSTA, MN – Authorities say a 13-year-old boy was killed in a hayride accident in rural central Minnesota on Saturday.

On October 12 at 7:37 p.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an accident at the annual Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride in St. Augusta.

Authorities said a teenager was injured when he was run over by a tractor-drawn trolley car. Event staff, spectators and first responders provided assistance.

The St. Augusta Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

Life-saving efforts continued but were ultimately unsuccessful and 13-year-old Alexander Mick of Rice was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The incident is being investigated by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
