Bhopal: A senior High Court Lawyer died suicide in his newly purchased apartment in Gwalior on Sunday evening. A handmade horoscope was found near his body.
The victim, Suresh Agarwalwas recognized for his advocacy in high-profile cases, including the Emperor Mihir Bhoj caste dispute and a suspicious road accident involving the Father of St. Paul Church.
Four months ago, Agarwal was suspended from the bar following an incident of misconduct towards a Supreme Court judge depression He was being treated for this, the police said. In addition, a case against him was to be heard in two days.
He left home at 9 am on Sunday with the intention of going to his office in Inderganj but never reached there. When he didn’t show up, family members and colleagues went looking for him and discovered his body in an apartment he had bought three months ago and rarely used.
ASP City resident Akhilesh Rainwal said it was established that Agarwal was struggling with depression and was undergoing treatment. Police are investigating the death, he said. Agarwal is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
