Jamie Foxx cries on first show after health issues that left him ‘gone for 20 days’

Jamie Foxx opens up about his health issues.

On Monday, Foxx, 56, shared snaps on Instagram from his one-man show “One More Chance: An Evening with Jamie Foxx,” which took place in Atlanta over the weekend.

“God is good…As I post these pictures my heart and soul are filled with nothing but pure joy…on October 3rd and 5th I had the opportunity to tell my side of the story and there was no better place than Atlanta, Georgia,” he wrote in his caption.

He added: “I have to thank you, Atlanta, for showing up and showing yourself. I haven’t been on stage in 18 years, but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that was nothing but pure love, and this is it. “That was you.”

The Oscar-winning actor and musician said his performance was not a stand-up comedy show but “an artistic explanation of a thing.” [sic] “It went terribly wrong.”

A photo also showed him playing the piano. He won his Oscar for playing Ray Charles in the 2004 film “Ray.” Another photo showed him seemingly hugging a fan.

He continued, “But thanks to the great people in Atlanta, especially at Piedmont Hospital, you made it possible for me to come back and be on stage doing what I love doing most… #nobaddays, as my guy James says.” would #secondchance, thank you ATLANTA,” he finished, along with a series of heart emojis and peach emojis for Georgia.

In the photos, Foxx could be seen appearing emotional and wiping his eyes.

Since suffering an unspecified health crisis in April 2023, Foxx has gradually returned to the spotlight. The medical emergency forced him to stop filming a film and hosting the Fox game show “Beat Shazam.” His daughter Corinne, who also appeared with him on “Beat Shazam,” also resigned at the time.

At the time, Corrine shared on her social media that her father had “experienced a medical complication” the day before, but “thanks to quick action and great care, he was able to [was] already on the road to recovery.”

In April 2024, Foxx told a group of people in Phoenix that he was hospitalized after taking Advil for a “severe headache.”

“I was gone for 20 days,” he explained, before admitting he couldn’t remember “anything” of what happened.

The “Django Unchained” star hasn’t revealed the details of his health scare. But he walked Corinne down the aisle when she married Joe Hooten last month.

He also returned as host of Fox’s musical game show Beat Shazam with Corrine – during his absence, Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne temporarily stepped in to keep the show running.
