Milwaukee shooting; Man opens fire on crowd and turns himself in

A 57-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged in connection with a shooting that left two people injured on Thursday, October 3rd. The shooting occurred as a group of people were fighting in the street.

Anthony Mcgee is charged with one count of negligently endangering safety in the first degree, one count of use of a dangerous weapon and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to the area of ​​29th and Clybourn around 5 p.m. on Oct. 3 for reports of a shooting.

When police arrived at the scene, they were told that two gunshot victims had been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The complaint states that officers were able to locate video surveillance that captured the incident. The video shows two groups of people arguing and physically arguing on the street.

As the group fights, the video shows a man armed with a black pistol with an extended magazine opening fire once into the crowd, injuring two people. That man was later identified as Anthony Mcgee.

After the shooting, Mcgee walked away while the crowd cashed out their money.

At that time, a second test subject in red could be seen on the video with a firearm in his hand. His firearm was taken by one of the shooting victims, who attempted to fire the weapon at Mcgee, but the weapon jammed. The shooting victim tried to steal the firearm, but then gave it back to the second perpetrator in red. According to the complaint, the person in red fired shots as he walked away from the crowd.

Anthony Mcgee went to the Milwaukee Police Department’s Precinct 1 on October 4 and turned himself in for the shooting that left two people injured. He flipped over a black 9mm handgun with an extended magazine.

The firearm was later tested and preliminary results indicated that the firearm matched the shell casing recovered from the crime scene intersection.
