Woman was found dead at home after failing to show up to pick up her daughter from the airport

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV/Gray News) – A woman was found dead in her home after she never showed up to pick up her daughter from the airport on Tuesday.

Stephanie Ayersman says she spoke to her mother, 78-year-old Patricia Jimerfield, every day and knew something was wrong when she never showed up at the airport to pick her and her son up.

Ayersman couldn’t reach her mother while she and her son waited at the airport, so she called her aunt. Her aunt went to Jimerfield’s home and found her body.

“I won’t go into detail about how she was killed. It was brutal and she didn’t deserve it, she didn’t deserve it,” Ayersman said.

Jimerfield’s home was reportedly broken into twice before she was killed. Whoever broke into her house is said to have stolen her wallets.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Jimerfield was notified by the bank on Oct. 8 that there were fraudulent charges pending on her account. She then checked her purse and discovered her wallet was missing and filed a fraud report with the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office, there were no signs of forced entry or break-in at the home after she was found dead Tuesday night.

“They took my heart, my rock, my soul, and I don’t know what to do next. If anyone sees something, has seen something or knows something, please call the police. I really want whoever did this to be caught,” Ayersman said.

Investigators said they were investigating the fraudulent allegations.

Jimerfield’s death has been ruled a homicide, but the sheriff’s office has not said whether there are any suspects or whether anyone has been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
