Tulsa police discovered a stolen gun with a silencer on a 14-year-old during a traffic stop

Last week, a gun belonging to a teenager was seized during a traffic stop.

According to Tulsa police, officers with the Mingo Valley Division Street Crime Unit discovered a car with a mismatched license plate while on patrol near Admiral and Sheridan on Oct. 10.

The car was stopped by officers near 6200 E. Latimer.

Inside, officers reportedly found five male teenagers.

According to police, a 14-year-old had a gun in his pants.

Through investigation it was determined that the weapon had a working silencer and had been stolen in a car break-in twelve days earlier.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Community Intervention Center (CIC) and will be prosecuted in the Tulsa County Juvenile Justice Division. This is an arrest, not a conviction. – Tulsa Police Department
