Man arrested and charged after woman found stabbed to death in her Meyerland apartment

HOUSTON, Texas — A man was arrested and charged after police said he stabbed a woman in the Meyerland area last week.

Michael West, 48, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police found a 33-year-old woman stabbed to death in her apartment.

On Saturday, October 12, Houston Police responded to reports of a shooting at the apartments at 5440 Braesvalley Drive and found the woman unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds.

A witness told police she saw a man in the woman’s apartment. While they were still searching the woman’s apartment, the officers received a call from West, who wanted to present himself for questioning.

It is not clear whether West’s charge will be changed to murder as a result of the stabbing.
