Police arrest a man accused of breaking into a home in Aberdeen

A 30-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a home in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis said in a news release that Carl Quintano Gipson of Fort Liberty was arrested Oct. 7 after he allegedly entered a home in the area of Highway 5 and Pinehurst Street without the homeowner’s consent or knowledge.

“Aberdeen officers responded to the scene and began speaking with the victim, who stated that a person who did not live there had entered her home without her consent to take items,” Chavis said. “She was able to provide evidence to officers, including statements from witnesses. After further investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Gipson for felony breaking and entering and theft.”

Chavis said numerous resources were utilized to locate Gipson, leading to his immediate arrest.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and the suspect was known to the victim,” Chavis said.

Gipson was also served with another arrest warrant for communicating threats. He was not granted immediate bail until a judge set bond at a later date. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
