Woman dies in stabbing in Homewood

A woman was stabbed in Homewood early Monday, Pittsburgh police said.

At approximately 5 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 6800 block of Lyric Street for reports of a stabbing.

Police said they found a woman stabbed in the chest. Officers rendered aid, but the woman died at the scene.

No further information about the victim was released.

There were no arrests.

Authorities collected evidence and reviewed video footage from the area, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
