GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate Charged With Assault After Assaulting Correctional Officer – Video News Service

Nyejay N. Braction, 20, of W. Main St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with second-degree assault while incarcerated in a correctional facility as of Oct. 11, 2024.

Braction allegedly assaulted a Genesee County correctional officer, causing physical injuries to him after he was told to enter his cell.

Braction was booked into the Genesee County Jail and held pending further arraignment.

Jason M. Wood, 37, of Byron, NY, was arrested on October 11, 2024 in the town of Byron on a warrant issued by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.

Wood is wanted on two counts of sexual assault of a child, sexual assault of a pattern of child abuse and two counts of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust.

While officers were at Wood’s Freeman Road address, they observed him riding by on an electric bicycle. Officers caught up with Wood and he was taken into custody without incident.

He was taken to the Genesee County Jail and held pending extradition by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Raymond A. Amaro, 38, of Batavia, NY, is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree after allegedly unlawfully entering a residence and stealing property on West Main St. Rd on October 6, 2024 person had damaged.

Amaro is being held in the Genesee County Jail pending arraignment.

Susan M. Da Silveira, 43, homeless, was arrested for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and trespassing after she allegedly harassed employees and customers at a local gas station on Park Road on October 10, 2024.

After his arrest, Da Silveira tried to prevent the arrest. She was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Batavia City Court on November 12, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

Lakara D. Johnson, 34, of Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny after she allegedly stole merchandise from Walmart, 4133 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, on October 8, 2024 at 2:57 p.m.

Johnson was taken to jail for processing and released on an appearance ticket. She will appear in Batavia Municipal Court on November 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

Kevin A. Knickerbocker, 43, of Byron, NY, is charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief after allegedly violating a protective order by allegedly putting the protected party in fear for their safety.

Knickerbocker appeared in CAP Court on October 13, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
