Man who sexually abused two boys in Glasgow over eight years has been jailed for six years

A man who subjected two boys to a series of sexual assaults over eight years has been jailed for six years.

Hayden Fell, 30, abused the two children between February 2006 and February 2014 at residences in Glasgow.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard that Fell’s first victim was just nine years old when Fell began hunting him. He was subjected to sexual assault and rape until he was 16 years old.

Fell was also the victim of sexual assault and rape against another boy, which began when he was five and lasted until he was ten.

Fell, also from Glasgow, was convicted of rape and indecent and libidinal behavior after a High Court trial last month.

Judge Lady Hood postponed sentencing to obtain a background report on the first offender.

On Monday Fell appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh. Defense lawyer Gillian Ross KC told the court her client continues to maintain he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

She added: “However, he continues to respect the jury’s verdict and accepts that there can only be one decision in this case.”

When Lady Hood announced the verdict, she told Fell that he would have to go to prison for his crimes.

She added: “The offenses of which you have been found guilty are so serious that by their nature the only way to proceed against you is to impose a custodial sentence.”

Fell was also placed on the sex offenders register for life.
