‘Stranger Things’ star reveals the props he plans to take home after season five ends

Stranger Things may be coming to an end soon, but Finn Wolfhard knows what mementos he would like to remember his time on the hit Netflix show. Publication is scheduled for 2025. Stranger Things With season 5, the science fiction horror series, which first began broadcasting in 2016, is finally coming to an end. After significant production delays due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in 2023, filming on the series’ fifth and final season finally began in January and has continued throughout much of the year.

With filming nearing completion, Wolfhard recently spoke with People about the end of the series. When asked what props he would like to keep to remember his time on the show, he suggested The ideal keepsake would be the original Dungeons and Dragons Demogorgon figure His character hits the ground running in the first season. He also mentioned the bikes that Mike and his friends rode through the streets of Hawkins, Indiana. Check out his comments below:

It’s a small thing, but I think it would be very meaningful – the first Dungeons and Dragons Demogorgon piece I slam onto the table. I think it would be really cool to keep it. And then of course the bikes. The bikes are incredible.

The series’ D&D connection ties it to 80s culture

From the beginning Stranger Things In the first season, the series wasn’t afraid to demonstrate its reverence for ’80s culture. Not only does the series’ story begin in 1983, but series creators Matt and Ross Duffer also drew on a wealth of tropes from ’80s horror and sci-fi films to create their critically acclaimed story. Each season, draw inspiration from works from Stephen King and John Carpenter to Steven Spielberg and Wes Craven Stranger Things serves as an exuberant love letter to the pop culture landscape of the era in which it is set.

As such, Wolfhard didn’t choose better props to represent not only his time on the show, but also the influences that helped make it such a monumental success. While Dungeons and Dragons can trace its origins back to the early 1970s, it took until the 1980s for the role-playing game to really gain a foothold in popular culture. Additionally, the game was caught up in the wave of satanic panic that was sweeping American culture at the time and was referenced throughout Stranger Things Season 4, in which Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson is falsely branded a Satanist by the residents of Hawkins.

Not only does Dungeons and Dragons provide a convenient way for Mike and his friends to understand and talk about the mysteries of the Upside Down, it also helps anchor the show at a very specific point in history. Therefore, Wolfhard’s desire to keep the character used in Season 1, along with his character’s bike, is symbolic of this “Stranger Things” inseparable connection with the culture of the 80s.

The Demogorgon remains Stranger Things’ most frightening creature

Aside from the series’ connection to the 1980s, Wolfhard’s desire to maintain the original Demogorgon piece also brings attention back to the series’ first and most memorable creature from the Upside Down. While later seasons would introduce a variety of denizens from the series’ otherworldly realm, including both the Mind Flayer and Vecna, the bestial nature and sporadic appearances of “Stranger Things” Demogorgon consider it the scariest in the series.

While fans of Stranger Things While Wolfhard undoubtedly has his own extensive wish list of props he would like to receive, his selection is a perfect representation of both his own involvement with the show and its lasting legacy.
