Change this Windows setting immediately – especially if you have children or pets

If you have children or pets – especially cats – you know how much they like to touch or climb on your things, especially your PC. As I was writing an article the other day, my five-year-old was sitting next to me, watching Sesame Street videos and, as is her wont, waving her feet around.

Suddenly I saw the text “Shutdown” appear on my computer screen, and within a few seconds the power was off and the article I was writing in our CMS (and which I hadn’t saved yet) was gone. My daughter accidentally pressed the power button on my desk, which is under my desk.
