Hinjewadi: Two software engineers killed in motorcycle accident

Pune: Two young software engineers died after their motorcycle collided with a tree on the footpath in Hinjewadi.

The incident took place near Indian Thali Hotel when the motorcycle veered off course while heading towards Phase One Circle from Hinjewadi Chowk and hit a tree on the footpath.

The deceased are Sourav Yadav, 27, a resident of Hinjewadi and Anurag Pandey, 27, of Hyderabad.

Both were originally from Uttar Pradesh. Sourav was employed as a software developer at a company in Hinjewadi IT Park while Anurag, also a software developer, worked in Hyderabad.

Anurag had traveled to Pune to visit Sourav and they were on their way back when the fatal accident occurred.

Due to the force of the collision, both Sourav, who was on the motorcycle, and Anurag, who was sitting on the passenger seat, sustained serious injuries. Despite immediate efforts, both succumbed to their injuries on site.

A case has been registered at Hinjewadi police station and further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Recently, in a major road accident on the Alankapurm-Dehu Phata road, a minor altercation between a bullet rider and a motorist escalated into a devastating injury.

The bullet’s pillion passenger lost his arm after it crashed into an iron utility pole while trying to overtake the car at high speed. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening (October 8) around 7:30 pm and the incident is currently being investigated by the Dighi police.
