Flack Broadcasting – Local man arrested and charged for allegedly possessing and promoting child pornography

ONEIDA COUNTY A local man is facing charges for allegedly possessing and promoting child pornography in Oneida County.

Christopher Maloy, 70, of Holland Patent, NY, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Department last Thursday on two felony counts of “promoting the sexual performance of a child” and one felony count of “possession of the sexual performance of a child.”

The case was opened when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was informed by an online platform that a person had uploaded several images containing child pornography in Holland Patent.

The case was ultimately referred to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

Investigators, including with assistance from the Department of Homeland Security, gathered enough evidence to prepare a search warrant that was later executed at the Holland Patent residence, where authorities seized several electronic devices.

These devices were examined by members of the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

Maloy was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later arraigned in CAP Court.

Maloy was later sent back to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
