Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on US-70 BUS in Johnston County

A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident on US 70 Business in Johnston County Monday morning.

State Highway Patrol officials told WRAL News that the motorcyclist died in a crash near the Amazon facility. The accident occurred near Barbour Road, less than five minutes from Johnston County Regional Airport.

According to state police, the driver of the car fled the scene of the accident.

The road has been reopened but the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are still searching for the driver, who fled the scene of the accident.
