Plumstead Township is swearing in a new full-time police officer

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Junior Rivas-Breton was sworn in as a full-time police officer with the Plumstead Township Police Department during the Board of Supervisors meeting on October 9th.

Rivas-Breton graduated from high school in Warwick, Rhode Island, where he excelled in baseball and track and field, ranking number two in the state and number seven in the state in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.

Rivas-Breton moved to the Philadelphia area and graduated from the Temple University Police Academy. After graduating from the police academy, he worked as a sworn officer with the Tullytown Borough Police Department from December 2022 to August 2023.

Rivas-Breton then joined the Bristol Township Police Department as an officer from August 2023 to February 2024.

Rivas-Breton is multilingual, speaks Spanish and Portuguese, and comes to the department with experience and a positive attitude.
