Man stabbed in East Orange apartment building

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a fatal incident that occurred today at an apartment in East Orange.

Authorities responded to reports of a physical altercation at a building in the 500 block of Main Street, across from the Shop-Rite complex.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his early 50s suffering from stab wounds.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the victim was pronounced dead.

The altercation, which appeared to be domestic in nature, involved two men, but no further details about the altercation were released by authorities.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until family members are notified.
