The Troy Trojans and the South Alabama Jaguars meet in Tuesday’s college football game at Hancock Whitney Stadium. Here’s a prediction for South Alabama vs. Troy. We’ll look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best choice between South Alabama and Troy.

Troy Trojans betting preview

Troy lost its first three games this year, falling to Nevada 28-26, Memphis 38-17 and Iowa 38-21. The Trojans picked up a win over Florida A&M 34-12 on September 21st, but then fell 13-9 to LA-Monroe the following week.

In the last game against Texas State, Troy suffered another loss. The Trojans trailed 28-10 at halftime and ended up trailing a score of 38-17. QB Tucker Kilcrease rushed for 249 yards and two scores, while Damien Taylor ran 11 times and scored 63 yards.

South Alabama Jaguars betting preview

Over on the South Alabama side, they suffered losses in their first two games of the season. That was 52-38 against North Texas and 27-20 against Ohio. The Jaguars managed two wins over Northwestern State 87-10 and App State 48-14 before losing to LSU 42-10.

In the game against Arkansas State on October 5, the Jaguars were ahead 10-9 entering the final quarter. South Alabama gave up nine points from there in a tough 18-16 loss. Gio Lopez threw for 292 yards with two scores and one interception. Kentrel Bullock rushed 13 times for 66 yards.

South Alabama vs Troy Prediction

I’ll probably just choose South Alabama. There’s not much to get excited about here, but it should be a reasonably competitive match. The Jaguars recorded 453 yards (292 passes) and 24 first downs in their recent loss to Arkansas State, but also shot themselves in the foot with 11 penalties for 100 yards. All in all, it probably should have been a win.

As for Troy, they had three takeaways against Texas State in their last game, but also gave up a total of 467 yards (215 rushing) and 26 first downs. South Alabama’s offense should have some chances here if they can get the running game going.
