Tragic plane crash shakes Savannah neighborhood

A deadly plane crash rocked a neighborhood in Savannah, Georgia, Sunday evening, killing the pilot and injuring a passenger. No injuries were reported on the ground.

Authorities responded to the accident on East 66th Street, south of Savannah’s historic district. The Savannah Police Department confirmed the pilot’s death via social media and said the passenger emerged with minor injuries.

Local firefighters arrived at the scene just before 10 p.m. to find the wreckage. The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
