Andrew Truman from Melbourne remembers after tragic death

Tributes have poured in for Andrew Truman, the vibrant 44-year-old man who tragically lost his life after a brutal attack on the streets of Melbourne. Affectionately known as “Chewie” by his friends, Truman’s character shone brightly for anyone lucky enough to cross his path. Not only was he valued by his family and friends, but he was also respected within the sporting community, particularly as a passionate supporter of the Western Bulldogs and an active participant in the Wyndham All Abilities Football and Cricket Club.

The shocking incident occurred last Wednesday evening when Truman was walking along Elizabeth Street, making his way home after enjoying the city’s lively atmosphere and watching live performances by bands in nearby pubs. Without warning, he was violently attacked from behind and suffered serious head injuries. The attacker was identified as Todd Menegaldo, who is currently being sought by police for questioning. Truman reportedly suffered what his father Geoff described as an “unsurvivable brain injury.”
