The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol Episode 3 Summary

Editor’s Note: The following summary contains spoilers for Episode 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.

The last time we saw Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) On The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carolshe had made it to Paris, France with her new boyfriend and pilot Ash (Manish Dayal) after he had to meet some murderous women for the first time in Greenland. She is torn by guilt for lying to Ash and telling him that she wanted to cross the Atlantic to find her daughter. She convinces Ash to stay here while she goes looking for Daryl alone (Norman Reedus). Although the episode didn’t end with her finding her zombie apocalypse friend, she’s a lot closer to it than she knows, as she’s from Marion Genets (Anne Charrier) Army. The sadistic woman is looking for Daryl herself. Who will find him first? In the third episode “L’Invisible” Carol finds herself in a vital situation that she may not be able to get out of.

Episode 3 of “The Book of Carol” reveals Marion Genet’s backstory

“L’Invisible” begins with a flashback to a world before the Walker outbreak It turned out that Marion was a humble caretaker at the Louvre Museum in Paris. She is bossed around by the Mona Lisa and called lazy as she watches a disrespectful crowd, but she puts up with the insults, a stark contrast to the woman she will become. During a break, her colleagues discuss going out on the weekend to fight for health care, but a negative Marion says the government doesn’t care about them. Then all the phones in the building start ringing and the alarm goes off. Marion receives a call from her husband who is outside to pick her up, where things are becoming increasingly chaotic because there are police officers everywhere. He tells her that the government told her to go home and wait. They agree to meet at the Louvre pyramid, but unfortunately the police won’t let her husband in or Marion out. They are watching each other through the glass when suddenly the walkers come towards them. Marion can only watch helplessly as her husband is killed right in front of her eyes. Weeks later, she lives with other survivors in a dark Louvre, where she still goes to the Mona Lisa and cries over the lost world.

We then see Carol looking at the Mona Lisa in a dining room at Marion’s estate as Genet approaches her and talks to her about the painting. When asked who she is, Carol lies and says she is a tourist who was stuck in France at the time of the outbreak. This Marion is no longer weak, as she shows when a security guard belittles a kitchen worker after she drops his tray of food. Marion forces him to lie on the floor and eat it from the floor. Marion introduces herself and walks away as Carol looks on, knowing this woman is trouble.

Daryl fights to save Laurent in Season 2, Episode 3

In the meantime, back in the nest, Sylvie (Laika Blanc-Francard) prays for the strength to protect Laurent, even if Losang (Joel de la Fuente) holds them captive. She manages to escape her cell just as the Union prepares for the ceremony to prove how special the boy is. She is desperate to find him and believes he will be killed. As she tries to fight off Losang’s men, she falls to her death from a balcony outside. Nevertheless, the ceremony continues. Laurent is given something to drink to calm him down and is then led into the yard before everyone else. To prove that this boy is their messiah, the undead Sylvie is released. “Your love will save us all,” says Losang, believing that Laurent is so special that Sylvie will not attack him. This is of course completely wrong and luckily Daryl, Isabelle and Fallou (Eriq Ebouaney) Find a way into the nest just in time to knock down the walker Sylvie and save Laurent.

They hide from the Union but decide to split up. Since Laurent is drugged, Daryl tells him to wake up and take Fallou and Isabelle to the special place where they are training. While Laurent and Fallou escape, Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) remains behind. Daryl goes in the opposite direction, killing Union soldiers along the way until he is outnumbered and captured. When Daryl wakes up, Losang looks down on him. He tells Dixon that he was hoping to convince him of Laurent’s abilities. Losang says if he is wrong about the boy, there is no point in living. He asks where he is, but you know Daryl won’t tell.

Daryl and Carol are back together and kicking ass; What more could a fan want?

We next see Laurent and Fallou hiding in a cave in the forest. It hurts the boy to know that others will be hurt because of a made-up story about him. He knows he’s nothing special and that a bite from a walker would have killed him. Others wanted to believe the lie, but he seems to admire Daryl for never falling for it. Daryl could probably use a god now, though, because he’s being held captive and now the captured Isabelle is next to him. He tells the woman he loves that they will escape tomorrow morning, and to comfort her with his voice, he tells her a story about a man who wanted nothing more than to go home. He dreams of taking Laurent back to America, where he can go to school and where Isabelle can do whatever she wants. For her it’s a dream. She tells Daryl “I love you” and holds his hand. Losang comes to their cells and wants to explain himself to Isabelle, but she no longer wants to help him. Losang has his men take Isabelle, which leads to Daryl saying he will take her to Laurent. Losang doesn’t care and tells Daryl that he’s “beyond hope.”

Carol is sent to work in a kitchen, which she doesn’t want because she won’t find Daryl there. Your new friend Remy (François Perache), tells her that the group is preparing to attack the Union, and when she sees the tied hostages being led away, they decide to follow her. They hide behind a door while the kidnappers are shot before a scientist injects them all and brings them back as walkers. Remy tells Carol that Genet is trying to create a stronger race of walkers. “Great, this is exactly what the world needs,” she tells him. Carol decides it’s time to look for Daryl and Remy’s husband.

Carol is walking through a dining room for the not-so-wealthy, asking if anyone knows a man named Daryl Dixon, when a beaten and chained Stephane Codron (Romain Levi) calls in a weak voice. He knows Daryl, but isn’t so sure about helping Carol She lies again and says that Daryl is her brother and only surviving family member. Carol will manipulate anyone who gets in her way to get to him. Codron tells her about the island fortress, but he tells Carol that she has to hurry because Genet will kill him if she gets to him first. After a conversation with Remy, who doesn’t want to leave his husband behind, Carol decides to leave Marion’s estate.

Carol briefly manages to sneak out of Genet’s fortress on horseback, but it won’t be so easy as she is quickly caught and brought back. So how was she found? Remy gave her up in exchange for being reunited with his husband and sent back to Paris. Marion threatens to send Carol to her walker experiments unless she tells her what she plans to do. Carol is now honest and admits that she manipulated Ash into taking her from America to France to find her daughter. Okay, she was half honest. Genet asks why Carol wants to find Daryl and because our Carol is so smart and knows how to play people, she says she wants to kill him. This puts her and Marion on the same page in Genet’s mind. Marion tells Carol that Daryl has joined forces with some religious zealots on an island fortress. Your people will attack tomorrow. If Carol wants to kill Daryl, Marion will take her to him.

The next day, Marion rides with Carol past the remains of the Louvre, where she talks about her humble beginnings. A flashback shows that she lived there with dozens of weakened and frightened survivors. She tells Carol about the paintings and how they looked to God for hope in the chaos, but to her religion is just a way to control people. The Union wants to control others with fairy tales, but it will prove them wrong. Under the cover of night, Genet’s soldiers begin the journey to the nest, with Carol sitting right next to the leader. They stop to rally the troops, but this isn’t a normal speech to cheer everyone up. Instead, these people are there to die and have become Genet’s super runners to fight against the Union. Marion tells Carol that she will be among them and that she can kill Daryl that way. As the episode ends, Carol is held at gunpoint along with the others and has nowhere to go.
