This evening, the Rockville City Police Department and Metro Transit Police responded to two separate knife attacks near the Twinbrook Metro station, in which both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries

According to RCPD: “Shortly before 5:30 this evening, RCPD responded to the Twinbrook subway station for a stabbing. The adult male victim was approached and stabbed by an unknown suspect. Metro Transit Police responded and are investigating. A few minutes later, RCPD responded to a separate call for a stabbing in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, near the subway station. Another adult male victim was found to have been stabbed in the back. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as an African-American male wearing only black clothing and remains at large. As the search for the suspect is still ongoing, residents should expect a large police presence in the area. RCPD criminal investigators are on scene and coordinating investigative efforts with Metro Transit Police. Surveillance footage from the area is being collected and analyzed. The community is asked to remain aware of their surroundings and immediately report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1.”
