A Child in Waiting: Meet Daniel

Each month, MTN profiles a child in Montana waiting to find their forever family as part of our “A Waiting Child” program. In the video above we meet Daniel.

For more information about adoption and/or foster care, contact the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services (DPHHS) at 1-866-9-FOSTER.

Children available for adoption through the DPHHS Child & Family Services (CFS) division have been removed from their own families due to abuse, neglect, or other family issues that make it unsafe for them to remain at home. Their parents’ rights were terminated by giving the children up for adoption.

Who can adopt? Both married couples and single adults who have an approved pre-placement evaluation or adoption home study can adopt in the state of Montana.

How do I get a home study? If you live in Montana, you can begin the process by contacting your CFS office. If you live outside of Montana, contact your state or local office that offers these services.

What about training? Montana Child and Family Services requires and provides specialized training to all of our foster and adoptive parents. Training is offered at various times and locations throughout the state of Montana.
