2024 MLB Playoffs: Schedule, Postseason Round, Standings

The 2024 MLB Playoffs are rolling along!

For the third time, the 12-team postseason kicked off with an action-packed wild card round that saw eight teams compete for four spots to advance to the eight-team division series. The Astros, Orioles and Braves were all defeated by their wild card opponents, sending the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres to the Division Series. In the only Game 3 of the year, Pete Alonso and the New York Mets stunned the Milwaukee Brewers with a home run in the ninth inning to advance.

The Phillies became the first team to be eliminated from the divisional round when the Mets closed out Game 4 at Citi Field, upsetting Philadelphia. The Mets face the Dodgers, who defeated the Padres in a crucial Game 5, in the NLCS. Meanwhile in the American League, the Yankees have advanced to the ALCS, where they will face a Guardians team fresh off a win in ALDS Game 5 against the Tigers.
