Ghaziabad: A 5-year-old boy died after coming into contact with an electricity pole in Lajpat Nagar area of ​​Sahibabad on Saturday evening. Jayesh, a resident of D Block in Lajpat Nagar, had been outside his house along with other children from the area when the incident occurred.
His family accused the electricity authority of negligence and filed a police report. Police said an investigation is underway.
The boy’s father Rahul Dhimanwho works at a private company, said that the boy was playing outside with his friends as usual on Saturday evening when his hand accidentally touched the electricity pole, resulting in severe electric shock. The family rushed to his aid when they heard the commotion outside and took him to hospital – where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Dhiman further claimed that his mother also received an electric shock from the said pole a few months ago. At that time, they had lodged a complaint with the Electricity Department but no action was taken.
