Tulsa police arrest man for attempted robbery

Tulsa police arrested a man Sunday morning who they say threatened them and tried to rob two people outside a restaurant.

Police say Esteban Barron tried to rob the couple outside Tokyo Garden near 41st Street and Memorial Drive around 9 a.m

According to police, Barron, who was riding his bicycle, initially asked the couple for their phones. When they refused, Barron returned with a crowbar and threatened them.

The situation de-escalated when a man pulled out a knife, causing Barron to flee.

Police later arrested him near 31st Street and Memorial.

Barron is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
