Man killed after knife attack on subway platform in downtown Montreal

MONTREAL — A man is dead after a deadly altercation on a downtown subway platform late Saturday, according to Montreal police.

Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant says a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body during a fight with another person on the eastbound train platform around 11:20 p.m.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Brabant says police have not yet made an arrest.

There remains a crime scene in the area and homicide detectives are continuing their investigation.

The murder is the 29th reported in Montreal this year.
