Man stabbed in chest during argument over tent in Seattle’s University District

According to Seattle police, a man was taken to Harborview Medical Center Sunday morning after someone stabbed him in the chest and ran away.

It happened just before 8 a.m. at Northeast 45th Street and 15th Avenue Northeast in Seattle’s University District.

Officials said the man’s condition was serious but stable.

During the initial investigation, the man who works in the area told police that he had been arguing with someone over a tent that he was showing them and the person
began throwing and breaking objects within the fenced-in area.

The suspect was immediately asked to leave and had to be escorted from the campsite.

Once they left the fenced area, police say things escalated and the fight became physical.

The man was stabbed twice.

Officers have not made an arrest but believe they have a possible suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
