The Summit County Coroner’s Office has released a new composite sketch of an unidentified man found dead near Officers Gulch on Friday, October 4th.

In a social media post on Saturday, October 5, The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said a hiker discovered the decomposing body of a man near Officers Gulch on Friday afternoon, October 4th. The sheriff’s office also said its preliminary investigation did not reveal any increased danger to the public.

Summit County Coroner Amber Flenniken said Friday, Oct. 11, that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation have been called in to assist local officials working on the case. Flenniken added that the coroner’s office is working hard to close the case and get answers and is asking the public for help identifying the man.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement in a news release Thursday that the man was around 40-50 years old and was possibly of South American or Central American descent.

The man was 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighed approximately 120-130 pounds, and had black and gray hair with a receding hairline.

The sheriff’s office released a diagram earlier this week of the approximate locations of the man’s two upper teeth covered in silver or metal.
