Southbury man faces multiple assault charges after domestic incident

SOUTHBURY – Southbury Police Department officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on Hill Place Drive at approximately 8:03 p.m. on October 11th, where they encountered a combative suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Tyler Scalera.

During the altercation, Scalera allegedly assaulted an elderly person, resulting in a charge of third-degree assault under Connecticut General Statutes (CGS) 53a-61a.

Additionally, Scalera is accused of assaulting two public safety officers, resulting in two assaults on a public safety officer, as well as charges of obstructing an officer and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Following his arrest, Scalera was taken to the New Haven Correctional Facility and is being held on $25,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear in GA04 Waterbury Superior Court at 400 Grand Street at 9 a.m. Oct. 15 for further proceedings in the case.
