Tragic Accident: Van Kills Police Officers in Mungeli on Dussehra Night | Raipur News

Raipur: A policeman was killed on the night of Dussehra Chhattisgarh‘S Mungeli District if an uncontrolled Pickup truck struck him, causing his death on the spot. The incident occurred in Bodtara village of Lormi.
The victim, constable Prashant Masih, was posted at Chilphi police station. According to reports, Masih had just finished his duty and had gone to Bodtara for dinner around eight. As he was returning from dinner, he was hit by a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction around 9:36 p.m., a police officer said.
Villagers discovered the body on the road and immediately informed the local authorities. After receiving the information, the police immediately took necessary action. A CCTV video of the accident has also emerged.
The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene after the accident and exited the vehicle. The police have now recovered the body of police officer Masih and sent it to Lormi for an autopsy. A case has been registered and investigations are underway to arrest the absconding driver, the police officer added.
