Cheektowaga police are investigating a fatal shooting on Cedar Road

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — A man was shot after an argument on Cedar Road Saturday night, according to Cheektowaga police.

7 News spoke with family members who said the victim was 20-year-old Rawnaq Ratin.

According to police, a person claiming to be the shooter called 911 to report the incident. Officers recovered a weapon at the scene.

Police told 7 News that even though the person has come forward as the shooter, police must complete their investigation before making any arrests. They don’t believe the public is in danger.

So far there have been no arrests.
