1 was arrested after an early morning shooting and sustained life-threatening injuries

According to mobile police, one person was critically injured after a shooting early Sunday morning.

Public Information Officer Blake Brown said the incident occurred around 1:57 a.m. outside a business in the 200 block of Dauphin Street.

Officers were called to the area following the shooting, and around the same time, a man with life-threatening injuries arrived in a private vehicle at a local hospital.

Back at the scene, officers quickly identified and located a man who was still in the area and who they suspected was involved in the shooting.

Oscar Phillips, 29, was arrested and taken to Metro Jail. He is charged with first-degree assault, attempting to elude, prohibiting certain persons from carrying a firearm and a probation violation.
