AURORA | An unidentified girl was shot in the leg early Sunday as she left what police called a house party in west Aurora.

Officers were called to a home in the Highline Villages townhouse and condominium complex in the 100 block of South Nome Street around 1 a.m. following reports of a shooting.

“An underage female was leaving a house party when she was shot in the leg by an unknown person,” Aurora police spokeswoman Joy Moylan said in a statement. “The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”

Police said they had no information about a possible suspect or motive in the shooting.

“The Gun Violence Suppression Team is leading the ongoing investigation,” Moylan said.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
