Redford Township man killed in motorcycle accident in Monroe County

The police believe that high speeds were responsible for the accident

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police say a Redford Township man died after losing control of the motorcycle he was driving in Monroe County.

The accident occurred on Friday, October 11, 2024, at approximately 3:57 p.m. in the area of ​​US Turnpike and Roberts Road in Berlin Township.

Michigan State Police said a 55-year-old Redford Township man was traveling north on the U.S. Turnpike when he lost control of his motorcycle and left the roadway. The motorcycle was overturned and the man was thrown out. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The Redford Township man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said high speeds were believed to be a factor in the crash.
