Sunrise Manor crash leaves two dead | Traffic

Two men were killed in an accident at Sunrise Manor early Sunday morning.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred around 1:03 a.m. on East Lake Mead Boulevard near Sloan Lane.

According to police, a 20-year-old man was driving a 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan westbound on Lake Mead at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a median, causing the car to overturn turned clockwise and then collided with a 1991 Honda Prelude on the opposite side of the street.

Both the 20-year-old and 22-year-old Honda driver were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The deaths of the two men mark the 120th and 121st traffic-related deaths in Metro’s jurisdiction this year. An investigation is ongoing.
