Police respond to fatal accident on Grand Island

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Grand Island Police responded to a fatal crash Sunday morning.

In a social media post around 1 a.m., police said a portion of South Locust Road was closed due to a single-vehicle fatality crash.

S. Locust St is closed between Stolley Park Rd and Hwy 34 due to a fatal single-vehicle crash. Avoid the area for the next few hours.

The road between Highway 34 and Stolley Park Road was closed and people were asked to avoid the area for several hours.

The details of the crash are unknown and Channel 8 is awaiting a response from Grand Island officials.
