Shock as a man was arrested following a knife attack in Derry city centre

Police investigating a report of a knife attack in the Foyle Street area of ​​Derry on Sunday October 13 have arrested a man.

Just after 1:40 a.m., it was reported that a 27-year-old man was stabbed multiple times by another man at an area store.

He was taken to hospital for injuries to his left shoulder and lower back that were not believed to be life-threatening. The man set off on foot towards Shipquay Street after the incident.

A 24-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offense and theft. He is currently in police custody.
