Myrtle Creek man dies in motorcycle accident

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – A crash on Friday evening, October 11, around 10:30 p.m. killed a Myrtle Creek man on Riddle Bypass Road.

Motorcycle accident in mystery

After emergency responders received a report of an accident near the intersection of Riddle Bypass Road and E Street, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) officers responded to the scene with fire and ambulance personnel.

The DCSO said the incident involved a motor vehicle – a 2007 Toyota Tacoma driven by 81-year-old Warren Currier of Riddle – and a motorcycle – a 2024 Ninja Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 81-year-old Warren Currier of Riddle – year old Gage Matthews from Myrtle Creek.

According to reports, Currier was traveling south on Riddle Bypass Road when he attempted to turn left onto E Street but collided with the northbound motorcycle. C

Urrier suffered injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment, but the motorcyclist driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for approximately five hours while officers conducted an investigation. The Riddle Fire District, Umpqua Valley Ambulance and the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office also assisted.
