Tributes to Jackmaster following his tragic death

Scottish DJ Jack Revill, known as Jackmaster, passed away at the young age of 38, leaving behind not only his family but also countless fans and fellow artists who admired his work. His family confirmed his death via social media on Saturday, October 12, 2024, saying he died as a result of an “accidental head injury” he previously sustained. The news cast a deep shadow over the global electronic music community, mourning the loss of one of its vibrant personalities.

Born and raised in Glasgow, Revill began his musical career at the age of 14 when he secured a gig at Rubadub, one of the city’s most prestigious record stores. There, surrounded by records and music enthusiasts, he discovered his true passion. His early years were filled with enthusiasm for DJing at local parties and enjoying the rich culture of Glasgow’s nightlife. “I never had to buy records again. So it was just little things, like when promos arrived and you got the first copies of them,” he recalled years later in an interview.
