Man shot dead in east London | British News

A man has been shot dead in east London, police said.

A murder investigation was launched after the victim – believed to be in his 30s – was found with a gunshot wound in Barking just after 4.30am.

He was treated by emergency services but died at the scene of the accident.

Police were called after reports of an injured man on Linton Road. There is a crime scene.

The Metropolitan Police said there had been no arrests.

Acting Detective Chief Superintendent Lewis Basford said detectives were “working diligently to piece together the events leading up to this shooting and establish who is responsible”.

He said residents in and around the area will experience increased police activity and urged anyone with information to contact the Met.
