Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Giants odds, expert tips, how to watch: Can Joe Burrow’s team get going?

On Sunday night, when the New York Giants host the Cincinnati Bengals, two teams will look to improve on sluggish starts. Courageous away wins in two of the last three weeks give New York optimism despite injuries in key positions. Cincinnati suffered close losses early on and has a strong offense and a defense that needs an immediate overhaul. The Bengals have a handful of points advantage in this primetime duel.

New York delivered a surgical victory in Seattle without stud rookie receiver Malik Nabers and running back Devin Singletary. Quarterback Daniel Jones and rookie back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (129 rushing yards) helped the Giants dominate time with short completions and consistent ground gains for 37 minutes. Jones developed a consistent rhythm with receivers Darius Slayton (eight catches, 122 yards) and Wan’Dale Robinson (six catches, 36 yards).

Nabers and Singletary are out again. Against a Cincinnati defense that ranks 30th in rushing yards allowed per game and 31st in sack rate, Jones and Tracy Jr. could display similar play to the West’s Week 5 win.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals’ passing attack make Cincinnati a threat in any matchup. Burrow is selected with favorite targets Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Chase (493 yards, 5 TDs) is off to a flying start as one of the game’s best deep threats. The Giants lead the NFL in sacks (22) and will look to keep the pressure on Burrow to slow him down.

Freshman Zack Moss was ranked 28th in the Bengals’ rushing attack (3.7 yards per carry), and Chase Brown could see more touches. (Moss left the Week 5 game with an ankle injury, but it doesn’t look too serious.) Against a Giants defense that ranks 30th in rushing yards per game, Cincinnati needs more touches on the ground to keep pressure off Burrow .
