2 dead, one injured in car accident in Shimla

Two locals from Uttar Pradesh were killed and another injured when the car they were traveling in rolled down a road in Shimla, police said on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Vishal (27) and Aman (27), while the injured has been identified as Kapil. All three were from Uttar Pradesh and lived in a rented apartment in Shoghi and Tara Devi.

The accident occurred on Chakkar Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car subsequently fell on the road. One of them died on the spot and two others were injured.

A police team reached the spot and rescued the injured.

The injured were rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) where one of them was declared dead while Vishal underwent treatment.

Police Commissioner Sanjeev Gandhi said it was a case under Sections 281 (rash driving), 125A (act endangering life of person or personal safety of others) and 106 (punishment for causing death by negligence or rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pending registered.
