Legendary radio host Wanda Smith has died aged 58, another radio host says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Legendary Atlanta comedian and radio host Wanda Smith has died at the age of 58, according to fellow radio host Darian “Big Tigger” Morgan.

The Miami native made a name for herself in Atlanta as co-host of the radio show Frank and Wanda in the morning with Frank Ski from 1998 to 2012. Ryan Cameron replaced Ski as co-host in 2014 before Ski rejoined the show in 2018.

Smith is perhaps best known for being on the receiving end of an explosive interview with comedian Katt Williams in 2018. Williams had already taken shots at several other comedians before turning against Williams after insulting their interview style.

The feud continued beyond the interview; Smith’s husband, LaMorris Sellers, later allegedly confronted Williams with a gun outside the Atlanta Comedy Theater. Williams did not press charges against Sellers.

Smith appeared in several films Madea franchise and wrote for Def Comedy Jam.
